It is with regret that I have to announce the postponement of the Healthcare Ireland Conference and Exhibition next year.

Healthcare Ireland will next be held at the RDS, in Dublin on 5 – 6 April 2011.

This postponement, is due to the current issues affecting the Irish health sector, that has seen the building programmes announced in the government’s ‘transformation programme document’ being delayed until 2011 or 2012, and a further tightening on the ability of healthcare staff to secure cover and travel to attend training and events.

The government, public sector unions and the HSE are currently working to resolve many of these issues, and the budget (due on 8 December 2009) together with recent support given to the banks will ease the situation. However, these initiatives will take time and are not expected to have an impact until late in 2010 or 2011.

This decision was taken in consultation with our supporting associations and Healthcare Ireland Conference and Exhibition who agree that the hosting of Healthcare Ireland in the spring of 2011 is the correct decision.
