Owner of Mattress Warehouse expands
WINFIELD -- Retail mattress chain Innovative Mattress Solutions has purchased Nashville-based retailer Mattresses Unlimited, adding 16 new stores to the Putnam County-based business that runs Mattress Warehouse stores throughout the Tri-State area.
The deal concluded Wednesday, said IMS Chief Executive Officer Kim Knopf.
Mattresses Unlimited has seven stores and a warehouse in the Louisville, Ky., market and nine stores and a warehouse in Nashville.
Innovative Mattress Solutions does business as Sleep Outfitters in the Louisville market and already had 14 stores there. The nine Nashville stores will be Sleep Outfitters' first appearance in Tennessee, according to a press release from the company.
"We are very pleased to expand our company's presence in the Louisville market, my hometown," Knopf said in the release, "and the opportunity to enter the Nashville market is particularly exciting.
