Mobility scooters on the market provide freedom to those using them. They can get out, move around their house and enjoy shopping at their own pace.

A mobility scooter is a mobile device with one seat that is powered by battery, gas or electricity. These are a combination of a wheelchair and a motorized scooter. The seat is often comfortable including a footrest in the frame and will have either four or three wheels. The person will control it with a handlebar or tiller. Various brands are available with options for internal or external use. Mobility scooters have tire choices for inside or outside use.

If a battery operated option is used it has a 12-volt battery with it suggested to purchase a back-up battery. The power lasts up to 10 hours. It often can travel around 30 miles. A mobility scooter can travel at least 4 MPH, but less than 10 MPH. Gas powered mobility scooters often have more maintenance that is needed and an electrical mobility scooter usually has a battery backup available.
