Ah... probably not. Alternators tend to deliver a steady charge while the gel-filled newer chair batteries need to be 'massaged' by varying the charge as the process goes. Watch the lights on your charger- they flicker at different rates during different phases of the charge.

Roseville — Police are investigating a car crash Wednesday on Gratiot that killed a person riding in a motorized wheelchair.
A 58-year-old man using the wheelchair was struck by a car traveling south as he tried to cross Gratiot just south of 11 Mile about 7:20 a.m. Wednesday, said Roseville Deputy Police Chief Anthony Cona.
A 22-year-old man was driving the vehicle, officials said.
Chesterfield Township resident George Locricchio was taking a smoke break when he witnessed the crash.
"I was on the west side of Gratiot and saw this little car driving in the fast lane," Locricchio said.
"He wasn't speeding or anything like that. He entered a turnaround to southbound Gratiot and apparently a guy in one of those motorized chairs was in there.

Most power wheelchairs work on 2 12vdc deep-cycle batteries, and often have a ‘tap’ so you can hook up accessories.
The thing to remember is that cars recharge the batteries in use, You will be draining the batteries when you listen- so you will be sacrificing range of mobility for music when you could do the music part with a few rechargeable D’s or something.
If you have a headrest, you can rig a pair of small powered speakers (like computer speakers) on the headrest to help create a ‘bubble’ of sound for your pleasure, all powered off a few cheap batteries. A rig like this would cost a lot less as well.
