Society gets spooky
Any excuse for a party will do, but costume parties in October added a bit more excitement to the celebrations.
PIRATES were featured Oct. 22-23 at the Holiday Inn French Quarter. They came from Columbus, Fort Wayne, Fostoria, Lima, Marion, Port Clinton, Sandusky, and Toledo for the U.S. Power Squadron's District 29 Conference. The "ship's captain" Felicia Evans coordinated the gathering of fun and boating seminars. Greeting the 150 salty dogs were Linda and Wayne Osborn .

Nearly 150 party-goers, double the attendance from last year, donned spooky costumes.
There was plenty to do when not mingling and munching and dancing to tunes played by Mt. Fuji and the Eruptions. When people entered the "Not So Silent" Auction, they were spooked with frightening screams and rattling bones.
