Toyota customs roll into SEMA

We've seen the F Sport cars from Lexus going to SEMA and we've also seen Scion's troop of customs. Now we have Toyota's plans: The company will take five cars to the show--a Yaris, two Tacomas, a Tundra pickup and the Camry Daytona 500 Pace Car.

The three-door Yaris was converted to a B-Spec Club Racer by Sports Car Magazine. The goal, according to Toyota, is to qualify and compete for the SCCA Runoffs at Elkhart Lake, Wis., in 2012. The club racer's livery pays homage to Toyota's 1998 Le Mans pole-winning GT1 race car as the company celebrates its return to the racing series next year.

To accomplish the feat, the magazine installed a group of interior racing bits, seats, a fire extinguisher, a harness and a WRC steering wheel. Hoosier racing tires are attached to 15x7 Enkei racing wheels. For power, the crew added an AEM performance electronic system, a cat-back exhaust and racing oils before a custom tune was done by Church Automotive Testing.
