BUFFALO - Monday's scene at All-High Stadium in Buffalo was all too familiar for the Fredonia Hillbillies.
For the second straight year, the Hillbillies were bounced from the Section 6 Class B-2 semifinals at Bennett High School in heartbreaking fashion.
Last year, the Hillbillies lost in a sudden death shootout. On Monday, Fredonia gave up the game-winning goal with :48 left in double overtime to fall to City Honors, 2-1.
"When you get to this point, it's just good soccer," Fredonia coach Jeff Walker said. "Both teams played really hard. We played as hard as we could. It just wasn't our time."
Aiden Lang may have single-handedly been the reason Fredonia made it to double overtime with several phenomenal saves.
Aiden was outstanding in goal for us," Walker said. "Everybody played hard. Everyone gave 100 percent."
City Honors got on the board first as Andrew Rampado scored at the 20:57 mark on a penalty kick.
